His Excellency the President of the Lebanese Republic Mr. Michel Sleiman sent on September 30 a telegram to former Deputy Prime Minister Issam Fares congratulating him on his future honoring by the Crisis Group institution.

The letter read:

‘Your Excellency Mr. Issam Fares,

On the occasion of the honoring ceremony held by the Crisis Group in recognition of your efforts to defuse the international conflicts and to secure justice and development in the world, I express you my sincere congratulations for this high-level decoration which comes in the frame of your political career and the goals you have struggle to achieve, through your work in the public sphere, and which stresses your position in the international arena.

I raise hopes for Almighty God to give you strength to pursue your efforts for the benefit of Lebanon and the Lebanese compatriots and to contribute in realizing a better future for our societies, ruled by the values of goodness, justice, and freedom’.
