The Middle East is curently as a delicate time in its history. the transition to democracy is facing many challengs, including managing pluralistic societies, conceding loss at the ballots and allowing the majority to govern, defining the role of military and security institutions, and building the civil state. H.E. Dr. Marwan Muasher is best prepared to address these challenges.

Dr. Muasher is currently the Vice President for Studies at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and former World Bank Vice President for External Affairs; he served as Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Information, Senator and ambassador to Washington. As Minister of Foreign Affairs he played a key role in developing the Arab Peace Initiative and the Middle East Road-Map, and as Deputy Prime Minister, he was in charge of reform and government performance, leading the efforts to produce a ten year plan for political, economic and social reform
