"Climate Change Vulnerability and Adaptation: Obstacles and Possibilities in Sydney and Beirut" Date: Thursday 8 April 2010 Time: 4 - 5:30 p.m. Location: Van Dyck Amphitheatre, AUB The seminar will present and discuss some of the difficulties encountered when applying vulnerability concepts to a municipal setting, referring specifically to Metropolitan Sydney. Short Bio: Dr. El Zein, a former AUB Environmental Health professor, obtained his PhD in Computational Mechanics from the University of Southampton, UK, in 1990. His research falls in the area of computational mathematics and environmental science and engineering. In addition, Dr. El Zein has an active interest in educational research, specifically teaching computing and environmental sustainability to science and engineering students.
