Sahar Atrache is an analyst with the Middle East Program of the International Crisis Group based in Beirut. She previously worked with the United Nations, Lebanese and International NGOs on projects related to social development, women empowerment and governance. Her post-graduate degree in Political Science comprised extensive research on salafist groups in Tripoli, Lebanon. She also holds a post-graduate degree in Journalism.

Nadim Shehadi is an Associate Fellow of the Middle East Programme at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), Academic visitor to St Antony’s College, Oxford, and formerly director of the Centre for Lebanese Studies, Oxford. At Chatham House he co-directs a project on the regional dimension of the Palestinian refugee issue and European policy towards the Middle East.
