The Embassy of Switzerland and Issam Fares Center for Lebanon organize a conference on ‘Defense and Security: The Swiss Experience’ on Friday, April the 3rd, from 9,30 am till 3,30 pm at Monroe Hotel, Ain el Mreisseh.

Since the comparison between Lebanon and Switzerland has recently taken political significance, and since the main problems Lebanon faces today- mainly managing democracy in a pluralist society and building an effective defense and security policy- had been dealt with by Switzerland in the 19th century, and in response to an increasing interest in this topic, the Embassy of Switzerland and the Issam Fares Center for Lebanon are co-sponsoring a conference on ‘the Swiss Defense and Security System’. There are high expectations that this conference shall allow participants to share in depth knowledge on the way pluralistic Switzerland has successfully built its defense and security system.
