Meeting a delegation formed by the staff of the US Congress

The Vice President of the Lebanese Government Mr. Issam Fares met a delegation formed by the staff of the United States congress. This delegation was constituted of republican and democratic representatives. They were invited by the “American Task force for Lebanon” in an observation visit and to take a look on the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.

The delegation discussed with The Vice President of the Lebanese Government of the present situation. It was also an occasion for Mr. Fares to assure Lebanon’s political position concerning its sovereignty, freedom, liberty and its relation with Syria and to highlight the importance of finding a just, global and permanent solution for the Middle East. “We should take into consideration that peace is the essential element for stability , growth and development in the region.” Said Mr. Fares who also insisted on the importance of reinforcing the relations between the United States and the Arab world.
